Research Progress in Environmental Response of Fiber Concrete and Its Functional Mechanisms

Smart fiber reinforced concretes (FRC) are good in intelligent environmental response. With the smart FRC being used buildings such as bridges and tunnels, real-time online distributed monitoring of concrete state can be realized. It provides an excellent solution to reduce emergencies caused by accumulation damages, resistance attenuation, etc. This paper analyzes FRC’s self-sensing self-healing response characteristics under different fields. Furthermore, mechanism carbon (CFRC), optical (OFRC), glass (GFRC), nanofiber (NFRC) would summarized. The fields include stress field, temperature electromagnetic chemical humidity among which field NFRC is classified Finally, advantages disadvantages, parameters, applications compared.
